Dead Horse / Ram's Head. ‘Bullock’s Flat’, ‘Mt Blue Cow’, ‘Bulls Peak’... many of the place names adopted by the Europeans in the ‘High Country’ referred to stock animals - which was, after all, usually the reason they were there. ‘Dead Horse Gap’ apparently references wild horses that perished after being trapped during a sudden snow storm. The photograph is on the ridge between Dead Horse Gap and South Ramshead. | Dead Horse - Ramshead.jpg |
